Nightlife on the Space Coast

After a day at the beach or an afternoon of shopping, visitors to the Space Coast will want to check out the great nightlife the area has to offer. Diverse dining and entertainment venues make a romantic evening with your sweetheart or a night out with your buddies a memorable time.

From continental to regional ethnic eateries, there is a wide array of choices for every appetite. Café Margaux, Cara Mia, The Black Tulip and Yellow Dog Café are a few excellent eateries known for their ambience. Casual diners and cafés abound along the coast that offer affordable meals that won’t break your wallet. For a more laid-back atmosphere, check out Rusty’s Raw Bar in Port Canaveral, Pineda Crossings in Palm Shores or Chowders in Melbourne.

For a night of dinner and dancing, couples can spend a few hours swaying to the music at one of the area’s discothèques like The Red Head Martini & Cigar Bar in Port Canaveral or the super-classy Heidi’s Jazz Club located in the heart of Cocoa Beach. A stroll along one of our picturesque beaches in the moonlight is a must as well for any romantic beach escape!

Florida’s abundance of waterways and rivers makes the perfect setting for an evening out. A sail down the Intracoastal Waterway on the Indian River Queen antebellum riverboat—a 47-foot catamaran run by Indian river Cruises—offers a relaxed tour of the area’s turn-of-the-century homes and breathtaking views of spectacular sunsets.

For those looking for more nighttime entertainment options, the Space Coast offers plenty of hot spots and events. Especially on the weekends, the historic city centers come alive in Cocoa Village and Downtown Melbourne, both of which include several locations in close proximity of one another for eating, drinking, dancing and, of course, bar-hopping. Port Canaveral and Indialantic nightlife are hopping all week long.

A few recommendations for enjoying the spirit of the Space Coast are The Cove area of Port Canaveral, the area around City Tropics in Indialantic, and Historic Downtown Melbourne. Concert venues include big-name performances at The King Center for the Performing Arts in Melbourne and Captain Hiram’s in Sebastian, a smaller more intimate gathering place for select live entertainment. Popular attractions are Grill’s restaurant, with two locations—at The Cove in Cape Canaveral and in Melbourne; Fishlips at The Cove for live music, dinner and outdoor dancing; the Conch Key Grill in Melbourne for Key West-style dining and featuring a riverfront tiki bar; Coconuts on the Beach in Cocoa Beach; and Meg O’Malley’s in Downtown Melbourne. The Brevard Zoo in Melbourne also features seasonal nighttime outings that are creative and family-friendly such as “Summer Saturday Nights”.
